Sunday School

Sunday school @
Trinity Lutheran Church

Ages 3 - Grade 5
Welcome to Sunday school at Trinity!
Trinity offers a traditional Sunday school style and uses the Spark Activate Faith curriculum.  This curriculum was designed by Augsburg Fortress in a conjunction with the Book of Faith Initiative the ELCA has adopted.  The curriculum that we use is Lectionary based.  This means that the lessons for the classrooms come from the Revised Common Lectionary which is a three year cycle of scripture readings for Sunday mornings.  The kids will hear the main lesson during the children's sermon, while the passage are read during worship and then again during their lesson.  Click here to learn more about the curriculum.

All kids ages 3 - grade 5 are welcome to join us for class.  Our class schedule and teachers are as follows:

Trinity offers First Communion classes during the month of January.  The dates for 2010 are January 9, 16, 23, & 30 with the celebration of communion on February 6th.  Classes are open to all ages.  Parents of younger children that are asking and showing interest in communion are encouraged to attend class.  Children will be ready to receive Communion at different ages, this class is open to all.  If you have any questions about appropriate ages for Communion please feel free to talk with Pastor Melissa or Liz about it.

Acolytes
Sunday school students and their families are highly encouraged to acolyte during the school year.  There is a sign up sheet on the wall next to Liz's office.  Please sign up as a family, siblings, friends, or yourself.  Younger children should be attended and help by an adult or older sibling.

Snacks
Families are asked to sign-up to provide snack for the children.  A healthy snack is always great, but cupcakes and cookies on those special occasions are fun too!  A sign up sheet is posted on the wall next to Liz's office.
